SAFEGUARDING

Pendynas Care & Education Services have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people in our care under the Education Act 2002 and, where appropriate, under the Children Act 1989 by:

  • Creating and maintaining a safe learning environment for children and young people

  • Identifying where there are child welfare concerns and taking action to address them, in partnership with other organisations where appropriate

Every member of our staff has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This means that we have a Safeguarding Policy and have procedures in place to ensure that Child Protection issues are dealt with efficiently and appropriately.

All staff, are aware of our procedures and parents, carers and professionals working with young people referred to us are welcome to read our Safeguarding policy. Our Safeguarding Policy is written in line with the 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' guidance provided by the government.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare.

Our Designated Safeguard Lead (DSL) is Clint Lanyon
